EK's Birth Announcement

I just received EK's birth announcements on Sunday and spent all night addressing them so I could mail them first thing Monday morning.  Now that I know most everyone has gotten theirs I can post it here.  I absolutely LOVE these and they were so much cheaper than going through a photo design company.  LOVE them!!!

I know I am slacking on blogging but a bunch has been going on and I can't wait to catch you all up to speed but first please say a quick prayer for me as I am having surgery tomorrow!  Apparently this sinus surgery will be worst than both my sections (which were easy peasy!) and honestly I am freaked!  Thanks love!!!

iPhone Photos Overload

It's that time again for me to upload a "few" photos :) Enjoy!!!

Monkey Fun & Mother's Day

The weekend before Mother's Day we went to Montgomery to visit some family.  We had so much fun and can not wait to get a chance to go back.  Maybe someday in the near future...

This is Bunny meeting EK for the first time

I know you are all thinking Bunny and PawPaw look a little young to be grands and they are but they aren't :)  PawPaw, also known as Bailey, isn't really T's dad but he is T's Work Dad.  When T first became a fireman he worked in Montgomery at Maxwell Airforce Base.  Bailey opened his arms before T even started in Montgomery.  They were on the same shift and they worked 24 hours on 24 hours off.  Plus, we were living in Tuscaloosa so T was driving two hours every day!  Whew, that man loves us!  It was a huge joke at the station that Bailey was T's dad and T was his son.  Those boys caught serious grief!  Then came along Uncle Ben.  Ben is an awesome guy in his mid-thirties who has an adorable little girl who he loves more than life itself!  (Oh, I sound like I'm inputting an add on Match.com for him?!  Well I'm not BUT I would love to find him a great Christian woman :)) Ben worked at the station on the same shift as Bailey and T.  They were the three amigos!  Even though T has left Maxwell Fire Department he still keeps in touch with these two guys.  They are like brothers and I was shown how much so this weekend.

T tells me all the time they are like brothers but until this weekend I had not truly seen evidence of it.  Once we arrived at Bailey's house I knew they were more than co-workers but brothers.  Bailey went in his attic and got down his daughters pack & play, swing and boppy pillow.  He also washed everything so it would all be clean for EK.  AND while she was napping he set their video monitor up so we could keep an eye on her!  LOVE them :)

Bunny is Bailey's wife and her name is not Bunny!  Her name is Bonnee but she is EK's Bunny - it sounds so much better than MawMaw :)  Evie is one of Bailey and Bonnee's daughters.  We love Bonnee, Tia (their other daughter), Evie and Bailey and we hate that we live so far away.  We are planning on starting a family trip with them and Uncle Ben and his daughter once a year!  Fingers crossed!!!

Mother's Day was EK's one month birthday.  Tear :(  It was a super special Mother's Day because we dedicated EK!  A lot of our family was there to share the day with us and we were so grateful to have them all here.

Unfortunately this is the best picture of our family :(

Bro Billy introducing EK to the congregation

Mother's Day was fabulous for me!  I got to spend the day with the loves of my life :)  The day started with The Hubs getting breakfast and then I opened my gifts.  I got the workout clothes I asked for and a straightener :)  Total score!!!  After church we had lunch at our house with our families.  It was so nice to get to celebrate the new life in our family on Mother's Day.

I am so blessed to be the Momma to the two girls in my life and couldn't imagine my life without them.  I am forever grateful that God chose me to care for them, teach them and love them unconditionally!!!

EK - One Month

Good gracious, I can not believe I am writing EK's One Month posts!  This is insane!!!  EK turned one month old on Mother's Day.  This past month has flown by way too fast and I am not looking forward to the next months passing as fast as these.

Elli Kate,
I am blown away at how fast this past month has flown by.  You have added so much to our family and brought so much love, joy and laughter!  We love you so much and can not imagine our lives without you!

Weight, Height: I am guessing 8 pounds.  At your two month check-up you weighed 7 pounds 4 ounces and were 20.5 inches long.

Diaper Size: We just moved to a size 1 but they are huge!  We probably should have stayed in Newborn but I thought they were a little too snug.  I really wish they had a size in the middle of the two.

Eating Habits: You just started taking 4 ounces at every bottle and you love it.  When we came home you were strictly on breast milk but we had lots of different issues so we had to move you to formula about two weeks ago.  You seem to like it okay but you still root around for the boob even while you are taking your bottle.  It is precious!

Sleep Habits: You are an incredible sleeper! (Knock on wood!!!) You usually go to bed around 10pm and sleep until 5:30am.  You will take a bottle at 5:30am and then go back to sleep until 8am.  Half of the time you will wake up around 2:30am, take a bottle and then go back to sleep until 6am.  After your first morning bottle you usually stay up until 11am.  You usually take 3 good naps during the day.

New Funs: You have really started moving your head and gaining more control over it.  You love tummy time - as long as it isn't time for you to eat :)

New Adventures: Last weekend we went to Montgomery to visit some family.  You had a blast :)  I will post about it soon.

Things You Love: Your absolute favorite thing is your Big Sissy!  You can be fussy and as soon as your sister gets you or starts to talk you calm down.  Your other favorite thing is to be swaddled!  About 90% of your day you are swaddled.  Even when you are awake you want to be swaddled.  You also love your music lamb.  When you are playing in the floor you think it has to be right by your side.  When you are fussy the main way daddy and I can calm you down is to pat your booty.  You LOVE being spanked :)  (TB really thought we were spanking her at first, it was funny!) You also love staying in the bathroom with me while I am getting ready.  Most days you just sit and watch me without ever making a peep.

Things You Dislike: You do not like to be cold! Just like me :)  If you are the slightest bit cold you will start to whimper and whine until I swaddle you. You also do not like getting out of the bath.  But then again, who does?  You scream your little lungs out when I take you out and rub your lotion on.  You detest it all!!!  You also do not like me changing your clothes.

I can't express how thankful we are to have you in our lives!  We spent so many hours, days, weeks and months praying that you would come into our lives and God went above and beyond granting our prayer.  I have loved every second of getting to be your mommy and take care of you.  There is no greater joy in my life than being your (and your Sissy's!!!) mommy and I feel so honored and blessed!

Love you more than you'll ever know,
Mommy

My Favorite Double D's

Before we go any further - You know when you read my title you were thinking boobs!  Well my newest favorite show talked about Mrs. Kay's "full figure" so that's where I got title of this post :)  More to come on that in a second!

This is our newest FAVORITE show!  It is about a family business of making duck calls.  My favorite thing about the show is that I have never heard them cuss and our whole family can watch it together!

It comes on at 9pm Wednesday night on A&E!!!  It's a MUST watch :)

This is Phil - He is the founder of Duck Commander and the reason there is the show Duck Dynasty.  He is a preacher and loves the Lord and "aint fraid" to tell it!  He also created the first ever DC duck call and was going to keep it a family business... Until his son Willie came along...

This is Willie - He is the CEO of Duck Commander and the son of Phil.  He sits in his office (a duck blind most days) and takes care of "keeping the family business from sinking".

This is Jase - He builds the duck calls.  He is Willie's older brother and biggest competition!!!

This is Uncle Si - He is a Vietnam Veteran and my favorite!  He rocks my socks off and cracks my side open!  No, literally... I thought I had ripped open my c-section incision my first Wednesday night after having EK!  Uncle Si always has a Tupperware cup full of sweet tea :) and always has the best analogies!

This is Mrs Kay - Phil's wife and Willie's momma.  Mrs Kay can cook!!!  Granted she cooks stuff I would NEVER eat; she cooks!  Her favorite is squirrel brains and frog legs :/

This is Korie - Willie's wife.  My husband says she married for money but I'm not going to lie after watching the show I would so totally marry Willie (If I wasn't already taken by the most amazing man ever!!!) just so I could laugh with him and his family 24/7!  It's not all about looks!

This is some more of the Robertson clan.  That's Jep in the top left - he is Willie's younger brother and his wife is in the red shirt.  Jase's wife is in the khaki jacket on the far right.

This is a Duck Commander duck call.  I decided to add a picture of it in case there was anyone who wasn't sure what a duck call was.  Honestly, before I met The Hubs I wouldn't have had a clue what this silly contraption was but now not only do I know, I have to listen to it 24/7 during duck season.  I also have to pray that when he returns from hunting he remembers to put all calls up before TB finds them or its over!  She loves a duck call... My little country girl!

So make sure you tune into A&E on Wednesday night at 9pm Central time to laugh your boo-tay off :)
